The Deadly Five (Part 2): The African Buffalo

What's got two horns, four feet, and nearly a half ton of attitude?  You guess it, the African Buffalo!  This is one bovine you do NOT want to mess with.  Unlike the Asian Water Buffalo, the African Buffalo is wild and a bit unpredictable.  At 1.7m (5' 7") high and 3.4m (13ft) long and between 500–900kg (1100-1200lb), it is not something to be messed with.  And, unlike the rhino, the African Buffalo is smart as well.  How smart?  Well, you just have to watch my video to find out!

Atanasio and the Lion (Part 2)

As I said before, most lions avoid humans when they can.  Most.  A few though, decide that life would be easier if there were a few less humans in it.  This lion is one of them, and he has the upper hand.  After all, he knows where my father is...

Trial by Glasses

Women. Not a safe subject to talk about, especially when you're married to one. Not that I don't love my wife! I do.  I just wish she didn't drive me insane from time to time. Two constant sources of insanity are shopping with your wife or buying glasses; the worst, of course, being when the two are combined together. But, well...you'd better just watch my video to find out what I mean...

The Deadly Five (Part 1): The Honey Badger

There are five animals to be wary of in Africa. One is the Honey Badger. The African Honey Badger weights 12kg (26.5lbs), and is roughly 100cm (39in) long, and 26cm (10in) tall. It's fur is a light brown on the top half and black on the lower half.

Athanasio and the Lion (Part 1)

Did you know that there are eight different types of lions in Africa? In Tanzania, we have the Tsavo lion. This subspecies is huge, and can measure up to300cm (10ft) long and 91cm (3ft) tall. One of the most interesting things about the Tsavo lion is that the males are usually maneless! Scientists aren't sure why male Tsavo lions don't have manes, but some speculate that they adapted to traveling through thick and thorny undergrowth where a mane would get caught too easily.

Coming Soon!!!

Dear Reader,
Congratulations! You have just stumbled (or is it tumbl'd?) onto the most fascinating life story you'll ever hear. For as long as I can remember, my Father has regaled everyone he's met with stories from his past. Whether it was of him growing up in Momella National Park in Tanzania, or coming to America, nothing he's ever done has been by the book, or could even disguise itself for ordinary. And the one thing everyone always says after hearing one of his stories is: "You should write a book!" Unfortunately, that has yet to happen. Probably this is because a lot of people with amazing experiences go and write books about them, and well, you know...that would be just a little bit too "ordinary" for my Father.
Then one day my family figured out an un-ordinary way for Father to publish his stories: on Youtube. And so the great project began...and is still going on. And while we may not be ready to share Peter with the world just yet, I couldn't wait to put up this post and tell you all about it! So stay tuned for the
